What is Ragged Tales?

An interactive, improvisational storytelling experience for all ages!

Home
Ragged Tales is what happens when dirty peasants and classic folk stories collide - from shameless puns to wisecracking sock puppets. The two sisters, J and K De Ragseller, explain how to tell a story, using the characters of Pro Tagonist, and his evil Aunt Agonist.

Children become involved, naming their favorite good and bad characters from stories. Storytelling is demonstrated through scripted faerie tales told from the point of view of two poor ragpickers - "Goldisocks and the Three Pairs", "Rumpledshirtskin", and "The Emperors Fabulous New Outfit".

Audience members are called upon to become Goldisocks' Three Bears, the Little Mermaid's thunderstorm, and Cinderella's washing machine. But stick around for the end because J and K perform a brand new, never before been told story, based on audience suggestions.

What happens when Little Red Riding Hood meets Jack's Giant?

Will the Big Bad Wolf win in a race against the Tortoise?

And who will save the Boy who Cried Stepmother?

We don't know either, actually. You'll have to watch the show to find out!
