These HTML assignments were done from Patrick Carey's
"Creating Web Pages with HTML". This was our first required
course in the ROP Web Design curriculum. The entire course took approximately
300 hours or 4 months of actual classroom hours. To establish a solid
foundation of HTML, all these assignments were hand-coded using Textpad.
Not only was the objective hand-coding but by going thru the entire course,
one was able to learn the basic fundamentals and practice the principles
of file management, developing webpage from start to finish, uploading
the numerous files that resulted from this course, and troubleshooting/maintaining
the site.
A "completely hand-coded" final
project was the "icing on the cake" for this course. After
taking the subsequent courses of DreamWeaver, FireWorks, Flash, Paintshop
Pro and others, I had the opportunity to rework the final project by further
enhancing it with these fine tools.
Upon completion of this program, you come away with great
confidence in Web Page Design.
You could view this course's curriculum and other available courses at the ROP
Technology website. Our instructor, Robin
Wood, has developed a great resource
site with up-to-date links to the latest and greatest in web design
resources. Check it out and get on the mailing list.
