Forward…

The Indiana Headwaters MLRA Project Office was established in October 1996. This Narrative Plan of Operations sets forth the specific objectives, goals, action items, and completion dates necessary for the completion of the Pulaski County, Indiana Soil Survey Subset Update. This cooperative effort will incorporate the team concept into all aspects of soil survey.

The plan embraces the MLRA concept and incorporates action items specifically aimed at establishing a regional approach to soil survey operations. The main focus will be to update the 1968 Pulaski County Soil Survey and eventually all of the soil surveys within the Indiana Headwaters MLRA Project Office Area. The area is approximately the northern third of the state of Indiana which includes portions of MLRA's 98, 99, 110, and 111. This office will work closely with adjacent states and project offices under the East Central Glaciated Regional MLRA Office (MLRA R-11). Project update priorities will be set primarily by the Indiana State Conservationist.

This plan is intended to serve as an outline/template to guide the development of all future soil survey subset update plans within the Indiana Headwaters MLRA Project Office Area. It will be updated at least quarterly. All suggestions and input from our customers and/or cooperators are highly encouraged and will be thoughtfully considered.
