The Wawaka series consists of very deep, well drained, soils that formed in thin loess and the underlying glacial till over glacial outwash on outwash floored till plains. Permeability is moderate in the upper parts of the series control section and moderately slow in the lower part. Slopes range from 0 to 12 percent. Mean annual precipitation is about 39 inches, and mean annual temperature is about 52 degrees F.
