Educational Background

I have graduated high school in 2008, and started college right away. I have graduated with my first Bachelor`s degree in Music Education in three years, and also taught music for three and a half years in Brazil. In 2015 I started Joliet Junior College, and in 2017 I transfered to Northeastern Illinois University, where I intend to get my Bachelor`s degree in Human Resources.

Background Information

My name is Mariana Lodi, I am 26 years old and I am from Brazil. I was born in one of the largest cities in Brazil, Sao Paulo. When I was about 18 years old I started teaching music to a group of children at a public school in Brazil. This group of 31 children was very diverse, their ages ranged from 10-16 years old,and the poverty level experienced by them was the only thing they new to be their reality. As their teacher, I tried so hard to bring them happiness, and tried to show them that they had so much potential and criativity, they just needed an opportunity to let it out.This experience was very eye opening to me. It made me work harder for my dreams and made me see how priviledged I was. I came to the United States a couple years later, and decided that I would explore my potentials, and mental capacity even more, until I achieve all of my goals and dreams.

Career Goals

I intend to graduate at Northeastern Illinois University and get my degree on Human Resources. My dream is to work at Universities as an Advisor for International Students, I wouls strive to help them with their Visa processings and other legal processes International Students go through throughout their school years. I believe Human Resources is a good start point to pursue my endeavor.

 Objectives 

My main goal for right now is to graduate in 2018,I have been taking the necessary courses to do so, and have suceeded in completing them while maintaining a good GPA. As an international student, I have the opportunity to perform an Optional Practical Training (OPT) at the end of my last semester; therefore, I intend to search for an internship, or to start  my carrer if possible as soon as I graduate.
