Explain: each character placed side by side. This juxtapositioning
suggests a relationship - which develops in the film. Are also mirror images
of each other: both artists, both in love, but one finds love which is returned
- the other never does. Introduces us to characters we do not know now, and
will only realise the nature of their relationship at the completion of the
film.
