General News

I found this really cool thing on my cable box.  It lets you play all these really cool games.  I mean, there's blackjack ($170,000 and counting), video poker ($60 and dropping steadily), solo mah-jong, and this really strange game that's liek a cross between bingo and poker.  You get twenty-seven cards, and you have to make poker hands going across, up and down, or diagonnally.  Games are worth $250 and in the first three rounds we will be playng for a secret square.  Whoa, my dad will be proud. Unless I totally screwed that up. Which is possible.

Tomorrow is the anniversary of Disneyland's opening on July 17, 1955, forty-eight years ago.  And I, however much I would long to go to rope drop, my dad's boss has called a staff meeting for that day (meanie), so we'll be arriving about 11:00, if you're absolutely dying to meet me.  I won't be in the black jacket, cause it's too damn hot.

Okay, I'm all out of material.  Um, my great-grandfather got an Oscar in 1948 for cinematography.  Yeah, he did.  Go check, his name was William Daniels.  Uh-huh.

My dad got nominated for a couple of Emmys for his writing for Jeopardy.  But he didn't win.  We have the nomination certificates framed in our breakfast room, which is now where we keep the computer, and we have one of the streamers from him winning the million at millionaire at DCA just draped along them.

Okay, bye.
