Enough of that. (Sorry, I just watched Ed Woods campy Glen or Glenda)
Anyway, I really do have problems with any sort of electrical device. Thats not completely true, my alarm clock has been very good to me.
Heres the list of things that done me wrong:
Stereo- sometimes it freaks out and when I push the button to play CD #3, it wants to play CD #1. Ill switch back to three, but it still tries to play one. Then I get frustrated and try to turn it off, but since its possessed, it looks for CDs in the trays until I unplug it. Also, CDs go in, but they have a hard time coming out.
Interesting side note: When I was younger, I was trying to plug in a radio, but the tongs were bent. So being the resourceful sprite I am, I held the tongs together while plugging it in. I got shocked. The same radio was causing problems the other day when I was with my brother outside. It was picking up radio signals from small planes. So my brother pounded on it to fix it/ vent anger. It broke. Not my fault, though.
Computer- the sound will not work on my editing program, or when I try to move files from my video camera to it. It also wont play musical CDs, which is a problem when my stereos jammed. It freezes a lot.
Video camera- now, I liked my camera for a long time. I even dropped it down the stairs once and it was fine. Now, its mad at me for some reason and wont let me play back anything. It wont even let me rewind. Theres no lights flashing to tell me whats wrong specifically, so Ill have to take it into the damn shop.
My car- Since Im a new driver, I get so worried that I have a flat tire when it gets shaky. Also, one time the brake fluid got kind of low, so when I was driving the brake light would turn on every once in awhile. Freaked me out. Also, I was leaving my internship site one night, and when I opened the car door, the alarm went off. I dont have an alarm on my car. So I ran inside and called my dad on the car phone after I had tried everything. He told me to start the car. The alarm went off again. So, my dad said he would pick me up. While I was waiting, my boss came out and I told him my problem. He decided to get the help of another employee, Joe. Well, Joe had me open the door and try to turn it on. Then he informed me it was an electrical problem. Thanks a lot, Joe. So my dad had it towed the next day to the shop. They couldnt disarm it completely, so now theres a little switch under my steering wheel that has to be flipped to the left, otherwise the alarm will go off. So, sometimes my clothes will catch on it and flip it to the right. In order to stop the screaming, I have to flip the switch while turning the key. The worst is when it goes off in the school parking lot.
Christmas lights- I have this strand of Christmas lights that burnt out. But the special thing about this strand was that even if one bulb was broken, the whole thing was supposed to stay intact. Regardless, I tried to test the bulbs to see if one was broken. Strangely enough, the bulbs are in there so tight, I cant replace them.
Fan- I had this fan that just stopped working all of a sudden. I deserved it, though. I would unplug it without turning it off.
Tv- Where do I start? This is by far the most abusive appliance Ive ever had. Its a small tv with a built in VCR and it used to work just fine. The problem started a month ago. When I put a tape in, I had to press play at the same time, otherwise it would spit it out. I could handle that. But then things started to go downhill, and quickly. Sometimes, it wouldnt register that there was a tape in there and the play button had no effect. Luckily, it would eject and I could start over. Recently, when I hit eject without turning it on first (which used to work nicely), part of the tape is still stuck on one of the rods in the back of the machine. I have to work the tape out enough so that I can reach in and pull it over the rod. Then, I have to manually rewind the tape, so that its past the newly crinkled part. That also happens if I hit play without turning it on first. What I want to know is why does this only happen on rental tapes? Anyway, that happened twice on Twelve Monkeys today and there was also a part where the tape folded itself backwards and I had to fix it. I dont think that last thing was my fault, though. Also, while I was watching Glen or Glenda, the tape just shut itself off and did the stupid rod thing again. So, if you ever rent a tape with problems, my VCR and I were the bitches that did it.
I think its important to recognize the fact that toilets also give me a fair amount of grief. They seem to overflow even though I dont use enough toilet paper to clog it. I am paranoid about them, now, and I always make sure they flush completely before leaving the room.
