Trade Rules
- Trading is perfectly acceptable in the MLFB and is encouraged
- A Trade Deadline will be enforced each season, where no teams may complete deals (Date Pending)
- Trades can involve any asset a team posseses (MLB Player, Minor League Player, and/or Draft Picks)
- In order for a trade to be completed, both general managers must post the trade in the
Completed Trades forum of the MLFB Official Message Board
- More than two teams may collaborate and complete a trade
- Collusion is not acceptable and any pattern of lopsided trades will result in immediate expulsion from the league
- If 8 general managers complain about a completed deal within 72 hours, it will then go to a Trade Council, consisting of both inside and outside parties
- Complaining about a deal should not be a constant and consistent matter; bad deals occur often; this clause is here to protect against collusion and general managers who simply give up and do not care
Farm Rules
- Each franchise's Farm Team is to consist of 15 players during the first season, and will grow each year due to the MLFB Entry Draft
- The Farm Team may consist of any baseball player, regardless of MLB experience
- Before the season begins, each team will have one last chance to set both MLB and Farm Team rosters
- Once the season begins, any player or players sent from the MLB team down to the Farm Team must pass through waivers, regardless of age or MLB experience (so be careful how fast you move guys up and down; and do research on whether a call-up is short term or long term)
- Players sent from the Farm Team to the MLB team do not have to pass through waivers
Draft Rules
- Each year, the MLFB will hold its Entry Draft, where rising stars get placed with their respected MLFB Franchises
- The Draft will take place a time to be decided in the future
- The Draft will consist of 3 rounds, determined by the standings from the previous season
- Next year's Entry Draft will be ranked by lottery, based on a consensus power ranking that will weigh odds
- Each team must have a minimum of 1 pick in each Entry Draft
- Each team must have a minimum of 1 First Round selection every 2 years
- Picks can be traded before and during the draft
