Power Rankings
For the week of:
October 9-16
1. Atlanta Braves
Great hitting (Pujols, Blalock, Bay) and Solid Pitching (Zito, Mulder)
Santana, Peavy, and Kazmir = Amazing Young Pitching Staff
2. Texas Rangers
Team 1-b in the National League; Proven All-Stars up-and-down team
3. Florida Marlins
Is there a better infield: Closser, Teixeira, Utley, Perelta, and Ensberg
4. Chicago Cubs
5. Oakland A's Lance Berkman may be the best fantasy OF in all of baseball in 2006
Could use an upgrade in the outfield; great lefties (Pettite, Buerhle)
6. Los Angeles Angels
Imagine if Helton and Beltre bounce back in 2006...
7. Boston Red Sox
Lots of ?'s: Can Bonds stay healthy? Can Beltran return to old form?
8. New York Mets
Combination of Hafner, A-Rod, and Edmonds is quite formiable
9. Philadelphia Phillies
10. New York Yankees Desparately in need of pitching now without Wood and Hampton
11. St. Louis Cardinals
Will need Juan Pierre to have a reawakening; will contend for playoffs
A sleeper team to say the least: Pitching will ultimatley decide that
12. Batlimore Orioles
Team will rely heavily on pitching (Halladay, Garland, Lee, Cordero)
13. Houston Astros
Thome and Tejada can turn out to be a great duo; team will compete
14. Tampa Bay Devil Rays
Relying heavily on young guys next year; division foes are just better
15. Seattle Mariners
16. Pittsburgh Pirates
Amazing farm team and a bright future; but not enough talent for 2006
