Essay Writing -- Sample Outline

                

THE QUESTION: In a four paragraph essay explain character interaction as
well as explain two literary devices that help to illuminate this relationship.


INTRODUCTION
 3-5 Sentences
1st Sentence must include a HOOK
THESIS must be included & underlined
2 BODY PARAGRAPHS
 TS: (Topic Sentence) Name both characters & how they interact
CD: (Concrete Detail) Direct quote from the text in proper MLA format
            MLA format:  lead-in, "quote" (page number).
CM: (Commentary) Explain how your quote shows the character interaction
CM: (Commentary) Explain what LITERARY DEVICE comes forth from you quote
CS: (Concluding Sentence) Wrap up your paragraph and transition into the next paragraph
CONCLUSION
 3-5 Sentences
