Cincinnati was one out away from a 2-0 series lead when Sean Campbell singled home Sudgen with the tying run in the ninth.  St. Louis scored three more times to take the lead, but blew that lead when—with two out in the bottom of the ninth—an error by Armando Scanlan allowed the tying runs to score.  In the tenth, Mike Bivas hit a two-run shot to put St. Louis ahead, but Cincinnati answered again in the bottom of the inning, tying the game on a two-run double by Sam Whelan.  Finally, Scanlan redeemed himself in the 12th, leading it off with a solo blast that proved the decisive run.
