Despite New York’s early lead, the wind wasn’t knocked out of St. Louis’ sails until the fifth, when an error by Don Alperman allowed two runs to score, pushing New York’s lead to 4-0.  Oleiter stranded nine St. Louis baserunners as he led the Sentinels to their first world title in a complete-game win.
