Yugi was always bullied around because they think he's a wimp. He was mostly bullied by Joey Wheeler and Tristan Taylor. He was completing the Millenium Puzzle, given by his grandfather. The MP was a mystical artifact from Ancient Egypt. Yugi almost finnished it but Joey grabbed the last piece and threw it in a pool near by their school, Domino High. Afterwards, some punk had cornered Joey and Tristan and beaten them up until they could hardly move. Suddenly, Yugi appeared in front of him and refused to move because he considered them friends. Joey was touched by this. After thanking Yugi, Joey jumped back into the pool and brought the last piece of the puzzle back to him. Then, when Yugi completed the puzzle he was fused wit mystical and ancient powers. and from the puzzle, Yami Yugi shared the same body with Yugi and they were friends. Anyway, to make a long story short, they soon met up with T�a Gardner. Talk about close friends ^^
