| GAME 2: Franchise Hockey 7 Los Gatos 5 |
||||||||||
| April 26, 2008: Playing with a full bench but no Mikey Stanzler, Franchise Hockey earned a hard-fought 7-5 win thanks to the help of new players Drew Winn and Austin Raub. The Franchise blew a 4-0 third period lead but managed to regain control of the game. After jumping out to the early lead with three goals from Nick Sako, the team's goaltending collapsed. Chris King, filling in for Stanzler, allowed four lightning-quick goals. Sako came right back down, however, and scored. Winn's first career goal, a wristshot from the left circle, ended up being the game-winner. Winn also contributed another goal and three assists, working extremely well with Sako. Raub also scored his first goal, banking a wristshot off a Los Gatos defenseman. Winn will likely not play again this season, because he is having foot surgery next week. Alex Boesch is expected to make his debut in the team's next game. Box Score: 1st Period: Sako 1 (King, Ragoobeer) 2nd Period: Sako 2 (Winn, Ragoobeer) Sako 3 (Winn) 3rd Period: Raub 1 (Sako, Rowland) Sako 4 (Winn) Winn 1 (Sako, Ragoobeer) Winn 2 (Sako, Cornelius) Goaltending: C. King 1-0 (5 GA) |
