GAME 12:
Franchise Hockey 8 Bellarmine 0
March 22, 2008: Playing without Mikey Stanzler, Cam Rowland and Ray Cleverly, Franchise Hockey was methodical, composed and ultimately victorious in their 8-0 mercy win over Bellarmine.

Chris King, filling in for Stanzler, pitched his first career shutout and earned his second career win.  His brother, Matt King, added seven points.  Nick Sako scored four goals with two helpers.

Franchise Hockey secured the number one seed, having run the tables in division play.  The Franchise won every division game and will earn a first round bye in the Division 5 playoffs.

Sako, on a fantastic individual effort, opened the scoring early in the first period.  After a long shot by Sheraj Ragoobeer trickled home, the floodgates opened.  Sako and King continued to work well together on offense, and King ended the game in the second period with a power play goal after drawing a roughing penalty.

Franchise Hockey will have a week off before the playoffs begin.  The postseason will start the week of April 5.

Captain's Thoughts:

All season, we've been very businesslike and systematic in the way we approach games.  With a lack of bodies, we've encountered plenty of adversity.  Tonight, the challenges was no Mikey.

Chris King was very solid in net and played a perfect game.  However, the way our defensemen stepped up was really inspiring.  Both Sheraj and Chris C really made a commitment to shot-blocking and our back-checking was phenominal.

We had a perfect regular season, winning every divisional game.  The test comes in two weeks.  The regular season is out the window.  The playoffs are here.-
