I
was born at Kanpur on 10th March, 1946. One of those
slave India periods when the war of independence was at
it's nadir and the country had decided that the
Britishers should quit from administration. The
atmosphere was normal with gossips everywhere that India
will attain independence soon. Having got my education in metropolitan cities ,like Bombay and Calcutta, I passed my higher secondary from Hindi High School Calcutta which was run by one of the philonthropist L N Birla, a man who worked the education system in the swadeshi style. My father being in close contact with the Birlas, I got the advantage of mixing up with the industrialists, thus attaining the mannerism of moving in the society. |
| Calcutta is famous as the city of
joy and the best place to maintain its cultural heritage
inspite of all modernisation. In every family, a fine art
persists be it Music, Debate, Acting , Dance and Magic.
The person may not be educated but still he has the fine
arts in him that requires growth. This influenced me and
I opted for magic. Having had my primary grooming from the late S D Mukherjee and illusionists such as Late P C Sorcar, H M Vakil, the then maestros controlling the stage and conjurors like Gogia Pasha. As an initiate, I joined the all India magic circle and then transferred myself to the International Brotherhood of Magicians to entertain those whose tears could not be wiped as with a few moments of entertainment life has many things to gain. Difficult are humanity, sufferings, and pain. Starting the profession as an entertainer in educational institutions, I carried the art to clubs, industries and defence establishments and had a proven track record as an entertainer in the field. Comments and applause as well as appreciation are given in the various pages. The hobbies of the magician are anything worth entertainment, besides coin collection , friendship , travel and tours, understanding various cultures of life and imparting entertainment where desired. With this I take the oath of doing my services towards this dying art of the country and would feel interested to interact with organisations, clubs , establishments for an entertaining evening with excitement to be shared between their officers, staff , families and friends. |
