| Ford Racing Performance Parts 65mm Throttlebody | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| OVERVIEW | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| One of the easiest modifications you can do to your 5.0L Mustang is upgrade the throttlebody. Like any modification, you'll only notice a power increase if the stock part is a restriction. The 60mm throttlebody isn't a huge restriction until the power level is increased substantially. It is a restriction none the less so replacing it with a bigger unit will yield more power. But how big should you go? Like with the carburators they replaced, going with a throttlebody that is too big will kill power and driveablity. For an everyday naturally aspirated street car, the FRPP 65mm Throttlebody is hard to beat. This unit costs a little more than some of the other choices, but it comes with a new Idle Air Bypass and Thottle Position Sensor. Otherwise, you'll need to swap the stock parts from the stock throttlebody. The stock 94 and 95 5.0L V-8 came stock with a 60mm throttlebody. There is wide misconception that the SN-95 Cobra came stock with a 65mm throttlebody. This probably stems from the fact the 93 Cobra came stock with a 65mm unit. |

| IMPRESSION AND DYNO RESULTS | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The FRPP 65mm throttlebody did not add much to the wide open throttle seat of the pants feel. It did add some to the part throttle feel. On the dyno, the FRPP 65mm throttlebody netted 3-5 hp across the RPM range. Overall, it is a very easy modification, and worth a few ponies. I would recommend doing it after the upgrading the MAF , underdrive pullies, and the catalytic H-pipe. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
