An update of activities at the Train Museum.
Refinery Model
photo
The refinery model is now at the train museum!

Steven G. is shown here cleaning up one of the modules. Steven will be working with Roger G. who is retired from NCRA and knows the model and the refinery well.
They are going to get 3 or 4  of the 16 modules cleaned up and repaired to be on display soon so we can have the Sentinel come take pictures of them.
NCRA had these professionally made modules in storage and were getting destroyed with time. They were created for the refinery to be built with using the models in their additions since the 80's. Now they use computer graphics and these models are a thing of the past.
NCRA gave these to the museum in hopes that they be restored and have a place in the new museum with a giant picture of the refinery in the background.
The 16 modules only make up about 1/4 th of the refinery's main plant but there is enough to be an impressive display. It's a big plant! There are no tanks or vessels in the model but they can be made rather easily.
The models are a larger scale but will be placed inside the MKMR HO layout for display when Roger and Steven get them ready. Thanks go to both of them for taking on this project.
