Research
Currently, I am studying towards a Masters of Engineering
Degree in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. My
research for my thesis deals with MMSE- Receivers in MIMO wireless
systems.
Digital communication using
multiple-input-multiple-output ( MIMO) wireless link, has recently emerged
as one of the most significant breakthroughs in modern communications. The
next generation of the system is supposed to have better quality and
reliability with high bit rate data service. It appears that one of the
key factor to achieve these requirements is implementation of efficient
and high performance preprocessing techniques at the receivers.
My research primarily focuses on the study of various processing
techniques that can be employed for vital improvements in MMSE receiver
performance in a Rayleigh fading single-user MIMO wireless communication
environment. These different techniques will be compared in terms of
capacity and bit error rate (BER). Robustness to channel and the effect of
transmitter knowledge will also be considered. The comparisons will be performed over a range of channel
conditions using standard statistical techniques in Matlab.
