OAKWOOD MEN’S CLUB

 MEETING MINUTES:  August 13th, 2009

 

The meeting was held on Thursday, August 13th at 8:00pm at Oakwood Clubhouse. 

 

Head Pro report (Kevin Kramp): 

·         Winners of all pre-meeting events will have a shoot out beginning at 5:00 on September 10th.  The  Pre-meeting winners are:

·         Kevin will send out e-mails on special sales in the clubhouse.

 

President’s report (Terry Winiarski): 

·         Extra applications for the Stableford are available in the clubhouse.

·         Officers for the 2010 season will be elected at the September 10^th meeting.  This is the last regular meeting of the year.

·         Proposals for the 2010 season are due to Terry Winiarski by October 1^st.

·         The banquet will be October 24^th at the Oakwood Clubhouse.  More information will follow. 

 

Membership Chair report (Jim Hautala):  Membership is currently at 116.

 

Treasurer report (Bob Czaplewski):  Report was read and accepted.

 

Handicap Chair report (Rick Zingsheim): 

·         Please remember to adjust your scorecards accordingly.

 

Rules Chair report (John Kugel):  No report

 

Event Chair report (John Winter): 

·         Please try to get your entries in earlier rather than last minute if possible.

·         Event applications may be pulled from the web site or from behind the starter’s desk.

·         The Stableford will be September 19^th.

·         Sr Flight Championship will be September 26-27^th.

 

First Team report (Bob Romans): 

·         A handicap of seven or less is needed to play on First Team.  Call Bob Romans if you are interested.

·         The August event, held at Brown Deer, was rained out.  The event has been rescheduled for October 4^th and will be held at Oakwood.

 

Second Team report (Wayne Oberlander): 

·         A handicap of eight or more qualifies you to play on Second Team.  Call Wayne if you are interested in playing.

·         Results from August 9th team matches at Grant Park:  Low score belongs to Joe Jurkowski with 78. High point getter was Tom Hoover with 20.

 

MCPLA report (Joe Jurkowski):

·         Each county course will have 25 applications for MCPLA tournaments or you may pull an application from the MCPLA website.

·         You now have two weeks to have automatic phone reservations for tee times. 

 

WPLA report (Joe Jurkowski/Roger Erdmann): 

·         WPLA is looking for volunteers for their tournaments. 

 

WSGA report (Terry Sot): No report

 

Advertising Chair report (Joe Jurkowski): 

·         Please use the coupons in our membership book as that will make it easier to get ads for next year.  You may pick up your book behind the starter’s desk.

 

Senior coordinator report (Roger Erdmann): 

·         Down to the final four!

 

Classic coordinator report (Joe Jurkowski): 

·         Down to the final four pairings!

 

Cup coordinator report (Tim Nielson): 

·         Down to the final four!

 

Senior Cup coordinator report (Roger Erdmann):

New Business:  All applications and event information will be mailed out to everyone in Feb. of 2010.
