Belasica closing in

FK Belasica remained on course for the F.Y.R. Macedonian Prva Liga title after their 1-0 win against FK Sloga Jugomagnat in the first round of fixtures since the winter break.

Four points clear
Belasica are still four points clear of FK Vardar. Bulgarian Dijan Velkov's fierce shot with five minutes left gave reigning champions Belasica increased hope of retaining their title.

Vardar back on form
Meanwhile, Vardar claimed their first win in five games to keep their own hopes alive with a 2-1 success against lowly FK Delcevo. Brazilian forward Rogerio Oliveira opened the scoring after a good counter-attack in the 24th minute and newcomer Vlatko Grodanoski doubled the lead ten minutes later. To�e Ivanovski pulled one back with a header five minutes after the break.

Demir comeback
Erol Demir, playing his first game in a year following a bad stomach injury, scored a goal in each half as FK Tikve� ran out 2-0 winners against bottom-placed FK Kumanovo. Demir's goals came on 19 and 72 minutes from assists by league-leading scorer Antonio Tasev.

Vojnovic decisive
FK Sileks consolidated third place as they won 1-0 at FK Pelister. The decisive goal was scored by Serbo-Montenegrin international Ognjen Vojnovic in the 23rd minute, while Igor Momirovski missed a penalty for cash-strapped Pelister.

Weekend draws  
FK Cementarica 55 were held to 1-1 home draw by FK Pobeda, while FK Napredok's clash with FK Rabotnicki ended goalless.
