Why Exercise...
Bodybuilding is not just about making muscles to show off. I've seen scores of guys with "not for me"
type of view. Its pathetic! But its just laziness on their part. They can play video-games, chat, watch
movies and waste their time in whole lot of stupid stuff but when it comes to sweating a little, well,
they have
no time for that!! I just don't understand how come some people can't spare just three hour out of all
the 7 X 24 = 168 hours in a week to
their OWN body!! I hope you are not one of them. But still if you are looking for a reason to
exercise then lets see if I can help you :
-
Weakness
Do you think you lower back aches because of
the house-work you did in the morning? Or do you think that your legs ache because college
is too off from the bus-stop? Do you think your neck and back ache because of age? No my dear
friend, you are just suffering from a very very common disease called WEAK-MUSCLES. Your
muscles hurt because they are weak. I don't say that they can't be symptoms of other diseases,
but weakness is the cause of aching muscles in more then 90% cases. Think of the people who can
do the same work, for example there are plenty of people who have no problem with the same
walking-distance. They are just stronger than you. And ofcourse one or two weeks in the gym will
cure all that in most of the cases.
- Oh that flab
If you want some sure-shot way to make the belly and love handles disappear, its gym. I won't
argue about all those newest scientific discoveries, magic creams, 2000 years old chinese-pills,
liposuction and other craps. No matter
what they preach about, I hope you are intelligent enough to understand that all they are
interested in is making bucks. Even if you lose some fat, who
guarantees that it won't come back besides covering the side effects and all? You'll just
end up messing up with your own body. Then why not take a much safer and easier way?
Just remember that the love handles are there just because you ate up a little more then your
body could use. So the most natural
and effective way to make them disappear is to USE them up by doing some
exercises (mainly aerobics). I understand that those commercials make exercising look like
the most horrible thing in the world. But its nothing like that. It may look hard for
one or two days but once you cross the one week barrier, you'll start enjoying your workouts.
And ofcourse, you will become more strong and active person. And all that with absolutely no
side effects. The why shell out your (or parents') hard earned money?
-
Energy
This is what I like exercise most for. Once you spend your first one or two weeks in the gym,
you'll feel remarkably energetic. It'll be something you have had felt never before (if doing
the frst time). By doing very simple and light exercises you'll become much more alert
and active. You'll walk taller and your face will beam with confidence and energy. In my case,
I study better when I'm doing regular exercises. When I'm not, I always feel sort of lazy
and stupid. Ofcourse I can't make you feel it, but atleast I can urge you to try it
for once atleast. You may endup become addicted to gym like thousands others.
-
Strength
Don't you think a little more strength will be okay? I hope everyone can do with some little
strength. It'll help you in daily chores, in a crowded bus and the best thing about it is
that it won't hurt you!! On the top of it all nobody will bully you, you won't feel inferior
to anyone, you will not be required to just sit and watch while some arm-wresling sessions
are going on at the bench behind you (in your classroom ofcourse) and you will be
more active and confident. And trust me, people generally respect the stronger guys more than
the weak (aka timid) ones other factors being same. I'm not talking about the bulging
muscles and all; you will gain remarkable strength while being as lean as you want to be by
developing quality muscles.

Age and Inertia
I've seen too many people (40+ age) who sorely need some workouts but they never set foot in the
gym because they think they'll end up hurting themselves. If you are one of them, then I must
tell you that just as you can eat at any age, you can lift weights at any age. You just need to
consult your doctor and trainer to get the best workout routine for your body. Lifting
weights increases bone density. So many old people break their hip-bones etc, if you are working
out, your bones become much more strong lowering the risk of fracture considerably. Don't you
think that those who walk daily are more fit and stronger then those who spend their morning
hours in bed and evening in in armchairs ? Well, I bet you do. Also you must agree that those
who go to gym 3 days a week are much more stronger and healthier then the walkers. I hope you got
my point. Go enroll in a gym now. Discuss you medical history and any problems with your doctor
and trainer and get your routines/splits made. Exercise and you'll be amazed at the results.
Oh boy! I hope those were enough to get you going. Its only one hour a day you'll ever need
to build your dream body. Just give it a try for one month, and you'll turn from a
couch potato to a most strong, energetic, alert and dashing person.
