The Trip to Abshar-e Talezang

The Talezang waterfall is located somewhere between Doroud (in Lorestaan) and Andimeshk (in Khouzestaan). Railway is the only way to get there. You must get ride for Ahwaz (or Andimeshk). The railway station is near the origin of DEZ dam. There is also another waterfall, BISHEH, which is some similar to this one. It is also in this way, just several stations before it.

When you get of the train, you must pass the DEZ river. (There is the railway bridge). Then you have 6-7 hours walk/climbing.

Pomegranate and Palm trees

The way is also very beautiful if you go in the right season. There were a lot of beautiful KHARZAHREH flowers. A nice garden, with a lot of pomegranate (ANAR) trees was on the way! You could also find some date palm trees!! Strange, yeah?!!

When you go up the mount you would see oak trees too. Near the waterfall, there are some rocks you must climb. It is some difficult, if you are a beginner in mount climbing. But there is enough support for the feet on the rocks.

You couldn't see the waterfall unless you get the last bend. After a long walking, climbing, the view of the waterfall really shocked me. It really shocked everybody! That's really great. You could see this view in following photos. Imagine, after a long walk and not seeing a bit of the target you see this huge waterfall. The greatness of the view never can be felt via the photos!

The waterfall, I guess, is some 70-80 meters high and 50-60 meters wide. This huge amount of water comes directly from the big rock! The green view of the waterfall and its side is astonishing for Iranians who are always hungry for green! I couldn't stop myself shooting photos and photos as well as Afshin, Hamid and everyone who got a camera!!

After setting up the tents, we rushed for swimming. Although there was some little rain and whether was cool, we all get into the water!! It was cold but freshening. In some parts the depth was enough to swim.

After this very enjoyable activity, we have the launch! The nice friends had prepared STANBOLY POLO!!!

At night the whether was so cool that we could sleep out of tend in our snap-bags, with the nice lullaby of the waterfall and nice view of clear starry sky.

Soon in the morning, I and Afshin get up, and start to explore the upper part of the way. There were other waterfalls which was smaller than the main one. As we climbed, the mount become greener and the density of trees was increasing. A thin jungle of oak trees. There was a MALRO way for gypsy tribes on their KOUCH. Somebody said this way goes to Dezful. We found a small gypsy family, which was making KASHK.

We soon get back to others who were packing. We sadly said farewell to the nice waterfall. I really missed it as missing somebody.

There were still the rocks to get down. You know getting down the rocks is more difficult to climb. Anyway, we had to wait to get down one by one, holding the strings. It was sunny and when you get downer and downer the temperature. We couldn't help ourselves when we saw a nice pool of water formed by rocks. Now we spend much more time in water because it was warm outside. But we had to hurry down, because the train was expected to be in station about 4:00. As the sun was coming upper and upper and we were getting down from hills, the temperature was increasing. It was some annoying but there were some river and fountain to refresh.
I think our trip was in the right season. We went on 21 ordibehesht - May 11. I think it gets hot if you get later. (You know, it is Khozesatan). In the first day, we had a chance and it was cloudy, and there was also some rain. The best whether!! The night was also so cool and nice! Only the returning was some hot. You could go there one or two weeks earlier. But remember not to loose the chance of swimming! The swimming in the river is the really fun you have there!

I enjoyed this trip so much. I hope you can go there!
