Chapter 4 �Lord Aoshi!� exclaimed Misao as she fell back onto her futon in surprise. The shock of seeing him at her bedroom door threw her so much off guard that she lost her balance and fell backward onto her rear end. Thank goodness she landed on the softness of her futon! However she still experienced some pain. �Oww, that hurt!� she exclaimed with a flinch. Aoshi, who was still standing at the door actually smiled a little at her sudden clumsiness. �You never change, do you?� he chuckled. �I have! I�ve become an adult!� Misao blurted in retaliation. The two of them instantly quieted when they realized that both of them had spoken these words before. It was in Tokyo a few weeks ago, when Aoshi had journeyed there to take her back to Kyoto just after she had helped Kenshin and the gang to defeat the Black Knights. Misao stared up into his eyes with intrigue, wondering why those words were spoken a second time. Probably because there was still so much unresolved between them� Suddenly in the midst of their deafening silence, Misao�s kimono slipped down and the flesh of her left shoulder was now revealed to the eyes of Aoshi! At the sight of her creamy flesh, his eyes twinkled. Misao gasped very lightly as she eyed the bare skin of her shoulder. She guessed it must have been a late reaction to her fall. In that moment, she recognized the beating of her heart increasing dramatically. It was due to the fact that Aoshi had seen her kimono slip off her shoulder. He could now see a part of her skin that she normally kept hidden from the world! Oh no! What�s going to happen now? She thought in panic, Is he gonna think I�m seducing him? �Misao,� Aoshi finally spoke. �Yes, Lord Aoshi?� Misao replied, trying to sound as cheerful as possible to cover up her inner emotions. As she watched, Aoshi stepped inside her bedroom and shut the sliding door behind him. Her heart now fluttered at the thought of being completely alone with him in her room! Her eyes widened in disbelief. �L-Lord Aoshi--,� The next moment totally threw her for a loop. Aoshi got down on his knees and came to her quickly. He gathered her up into his arms and held her tightly. �Uhh!� Misao did not expect such a swift move! She especially did not expect to finally get the chance to embrace him after so long. So, she decided to give in, allowing her chin to sink into his shoulder. This time, however, his grip on her felt very different. She was normally used to hugs that were affectionate but in the manner of a father or a brother. That was how Aoshi hugged her in the past. But now, she detected no sign of a family member in this deep embrace. She could feel how snug his arms were wrapped around her waist. It felt as if he would never let her go. Also, his right cheek was gently nuzzling the side of her head and his breathing was rather heavy. And his heart�was it actually beating fast? Misao�s eyes began to sparkle in response. Could it be�? �Lord Aoshi!� Misao exclaimed almost in ecstasy as she threw her arms around his upper back. She closed her eyes and savored the wonderful feeling of his arms around her. She could tell that he loved her ecstatic response, because he held her tighter at that moment. �Misao,� he whispered tenderly into her ear, �if you�ve truly become an adult, then show me.� �Uhh!� Misao�s twinkling eyes widened upon hearing those words! Her heart rate skyrocketed now! What an offer! It was what she had been hoping for. And now�there was no way she was going to refuse. * * * Sanosuke�s eyes widened and at the same time his heart almost skipped a beat. Megumi made quite a confession! �I�m afraid to look into your eyes because I�m afraid you�ll see how much I love you�� He had never heard those words come from a woman�s mouth before, let alone Megumi�s! Love? Had he ever known the meaning of the word until now? The words of love that he heard spoken truly touched his heart, especially coming from this woman. His eyes relaxed after he adjusted to the surprise. To think that Megumi Takani would admit that she loved him�the same woman he fought with countless times no less! He gazed deeply into her eyes as his thumbs lightly caressed her cheeks. �Ya love me, huh?� he said, inching his face closer to hers, �well that goes both ways, Fox.� Now he could see Megumi�s eyes widen. The twinkle of desire increased but at the same time tears began to water in her eyes again. This was the very reason why she was afraid to look at him. She was afraid of his love that was understandable, because she had been hurt in the past. But he could clearly see that she wanted and needed it. He needed her love too. Sanosuke leaned forward and gently pressed his forehead against hers. His eyes remained locked with her gaze. �I love ya like crazy,� he admitted huskily, �I never knew the meaning of love until I met you.� And that�s when the tears really came rolling for Megumi. He loved her! He truly loved her! He said it! She had been wanting to hear those words come from his mouth for weeks now! Thump Thump. A beautiful reality hit. Her heart soared as Sano kissed her lips passionately. �Mmmm�� she mumbled, feeling and tasting the severe need and desire of his affection. She reciprocated that desire by kissing him back fully, drawing her hands up and around his neck to pull him closer. �I want you, Sano. Right now,� she told him breathily, after she broke their kissing to tell him so. She was pretty much ordering him to giver her what she needed most at this moment. Sanosuke flashed her a coy smile. �You don�t gotta ask me twice,� he teased, tracing his finger along the profile of her nose, �be prepared Fox, because I�m gonna give it to ya!� Even though tears of joy still stained her face, Megumi returned the flirtatious smile and gazed at him mischievously. �Give me all you�ve got, Rooster Head!� Megumi teased back, as she moved her hands to his cheeks, �I just hope you�re prepared for me!� And right away, Sanosuke shut her up with another quick kiss on the mouth. His hands came under her arms so that he could hold her and pull her closer to him. He loved the fact that he�d met his match; Megumi was a strong woman and one to stand up and challenge him on any occasion, even with something as pleasurable as sex. After a few moments of hot making out, he broke away gently, cupping her chin in his hand so that her attention could not escape him. �You will never want anyone but me after tonight,� he said romantically. Chills of excitement dazzled Megumi�s senses hearing these words. She couldn�t wait to feel him within her. She needed him so badly. Making out with him and pressing her body against his while they embraced was literally a dream come true. She couldn�t wait for more. Their eyes locked in a passionate communication of silence for one moment, as if to study each other�s souls. The fires of desire burned deeply within them both and Sanosuke could hold on no longer. Megumi closed her eyes and leaned her head back a little as Sano opened her shirt. His face came forward once he revealed some skin and his lips came into contact with her chest. �Uhhh!� she gasped, the tip of her right breast hardening in response to his mouth.
