Wattage Tigermoth Page
Slight foam cutting was necessary to allow the rayovac 9volt nimh battery to fit and it runs great!
Light wheel from a rubber powered plane was used to make steerable tailwheel. Really adds to the fun allowing nice touch and goes.
Comparison of the standard 7.2v GWS 270mah nicad  vs. the 8.4v Rayovac nimh battery. Weights with wires was 2.7oz vs. 1.5oz according to postal scale.
Low res shots of the tigermoth about 75feet up. Cruises nice on one rayovac 9volt nimh battery.
Night flying the tigermoth at the local football field. The size and shape of a tmoth makes it easy to fly in low light.

What happens when you fly full throttle into a goal post? Well, you can see for yourself the plane loses. The upper wing sheared off, the struts broke loose and the motor mount stick broke. After a couple hours of gluing and taping, the tigermoth was back in flying form.
