Fall Swiss Cultural Trip
ZURICH
22-25 October 2001
The trip to Zurich was my second Swiss Cultural Trip.  I went with 2 other sponsors, Tanya Trioufanova and Jen Starling, and a group of 10th and 11th grade girls.  Zurich is a Swiss city that I had not visited at all, and I was actually excited about visiting.  I don't have many pictures, but you can at least get an idea of the city.

We left early on Monday morning and had our usual tour of the our cultural city shortly after we arrived.  Zurich has lots of churches!!  We visited at least 4!  I took pictures of some of them.
The highlight of my trip was going to see an opera.  It was a Mussorgsky opera, and I think I missed a lot of the story because the translation was in German.  Fortunately there was a synopsis in English.
Towers of the Grossmunster Church.
The Limmat River has played an important part in Zurich's history.  The city was basically built around the river.  Apparently it's so clean that you can drink from it.  I didn't try that.
Sorry the picture on the right is so dark.  It was a yucky day!  The Swiss National Museum is located behind the train station.  It is a totally cool museum!!  We were only there for about an hour and a half, and it wasn't even close to enough time to see everything.  I would highly recomment visiting it if you are ever in Zurich.
