| NICE, FRANCE THANKSGIVING 2001 |
| Last year for Thanksgiving (2000), I spent 3 whirlwind days in Barcelona with Tracy, Kim and Russ. This year Tracy, Matt Backus and I decided to head to France. Nice was our destination of choice because we could get there for little money!! |
| The beach in Nice, on the Mediterranean Sea, is beautiful. There were some people laying on the beach, but I didn't see anyone in the water. I guess it wasn't warm enough. I didn't even dare stick in a toe! |

| I didn't take many pictures in Nice. I think I thought Tracy and Matt were taking pictures with digital cameras and I could get pictures from them. I haven't seen pictures yet! I should maybe ask. Oh well. Maybe some day.... I did take some good pictures when we visited the castle in Monaco and the casino in Monte Carlo. Here they are!! |

| This is the castle. It's a walk up a hill to get to it, but it's well worth it for the views alone!! There are lots of little shops in the area of the castle, so we spent time shopping for souvenirs. We also ate lunch in the area before moving on to the casino. |

| The views of the Mediterranean from the castle and the walk to the castle were beautiful. It was still mostly sunny at that point in the day. The picure on the right is one of the harbor. The picture below is of the sea. |

| Of course one of the highlights of the Monaco/Monte Carlo area is the casino. I wasn't overly set on going there, but Tracy really wanted to see it, and I figured I might as well go, too. We were dressed decently enough to get in since it was still during the day. The inside is incredible!!! I can't imagine what it must be like at night when everyone is in there dressed to the nines!!! Maybe someday I'll go back just for the experience. Below is a picture of the front of the casino. It doesn't really do it justice. |
