I don't even know where to begin for this trip!! We actually had 3 full days and 2 parts of days. We could do so many things in that amount of time! Tracy was my traveling companion. Let me see what I can do to give this trip it's due........

Our hotel, The Heart of Amsterdam Hotel, was literally in the heart of the Red Light District. On one side we had the triple XXX porn show, and on the other side we had hookers. I guess that's what we get for not making reservations somewhere in advance. I think we actually felt pretty safe. The hotel was clean, and the management was quite helpful.

Amsterdam is a totally cool city. The houses are all really close together and narrow. Each one has a gable, but I can't remember the names of each type of gable. The canals and views make walking around the city enjoyable. You never know what you might see next.
I personally do not believe that a trip to Holland would be complete without visitng flower fields! Here I am at the Keukenhof. This place was originally created for flower growers to have a place to demonstrated their wares. Now it's a huge flower garden with all kinds of exhibits and every size and color of so many flowers! Below is a picture of a flower field. Sorry it's so gray. We had really yucky weather that day.
The picture on the right is also from the Keukenhof. And below is one other thing that you will see in Holland. WOODEN SHOES!!!

I would say that basically concludes my trip to Amsterdam. Besides having rainy weather almost the whole time we were there (and I was sick, too!), I loved the city. There are some outstanding museums, the food is good, and there are all kinds of things to see.
