Jon Barber vs. Jacob Mulinix
The Ultimate Showdown
With Mario Kart 64 - The Utlimate Racer
Welcome to MK64Times, the site which will show us who the true champion of MK64 is. However, the only people allowed to compete are Jon and Jake. 'Cause we said so. But feel free to watch us battle for the #1 postition.

Time to update this page again! I'd do it more often, but I am now officially competing against the whole world. Don't forget to check my profile for all of the latest news and times. Now, let's see... I just put an asterisk by all of the times that were done with SCs. And updated all of my times, which as usually blow Jake away. That'd be cool if he updated again, but we can't expect lightning to strike twice, now can we?
8-18-00 - Update #2 - Jake's comback held up pretty well today. I was able to beat his new time for Yoshi Valley senseless, but he was still just barely able to hold on to Rainbow lap and Banshee lap. More good news, I got the Mario Raceway glitch to work for me today! Unfortunatly it was on a bad run, I haven't been able to get it again. But if I can start to hit this one, watch out Jacob! I'm going to add my times to my profile as soon as I update this, so watch out world, here comes Jon Barber!
It's a miracle! Jacob has added his new times! Yes, you heard me right, Jacob is making a comeback! Well, to be honest, it's the kind of comeback you would expect your grandmother to make after you hit her in the face with a shovel, but it's a comeback nonetheless (is that one word?)! Way to go Jake, now keep it up, and we could have some real competition.
Just as I thought I had this thing completly wrapped up, Jake come up with these new times. He pulls himself further ahead with his great Mario Raceway time, and he steals back the lap times for Rainbow Road and Banshee Boardwalk. He also took back the total time for Yoshi Valley. He had some problems, including putting down his Banshee lap time in the total section, and leaving his Rainbow time a minute slow, but a nice effort. I'm sure he'll get better at it. Well, looks like it's up to me to try and beat Jake's new and improved times.
But the big news is that today, I am going to join the MK64 Player's list! Yup, I'm going to get my profile going and then send them an E-mail tonight. It's time I go global with this thing! Hopefully Jake will follow in my footsteps, and even more hopefully, he will continue to update his times on this page. ~Jon
8-17-00 - Ouch, another bad day to be Jacob Mulinix. Oh, wait, every day is a bad day to be Jacob Mulinix. Hehe, just kidding of course. But anyways, Jake lost even more of his WR's today. He has passed the torch on to Jon Barber in:
That means I have beaten Jake in 15 out of a possible 16 tracks now! All he has left is Mario Raceway. I've pulled within 2 seconds of him, but that record may be realitly safe, because going for that wall-jumping glitch is pretty frusterating.
I'm also geting better and better at hoping the wall in Wario. I jumped the big wall 2 times in a row today! And I got a lap time of 34. Now I just need to put a whole 3 laps together... This is usually the part where I make some kind of funny, hurtful remark about how Jake should add his times, but it's late, and I need to get to bed... ~Jon
8-16-00 - Jake lost one more this morning. Kiss Wario Stadium goodbye, Jon has crashed the part with a 2"15. I'm currently working on getting the sub-7 second lap trick working for me. It's really hard, because of the angle of the wall right at the finish. About 5 times I have jumped the wall, but been pulled a few feet too far to the left and missed the lap because of that. And about 20 times I have jumped up on the wall, but been stuck on the ledge on top of the wall. And Lick-a-chu puts you on the wrong side of the track then... I have jumped pretty much all the other walls in the level, though. The final wall is easy, and the wall at about half-way is tough, but not too bad. Oh, I will hit this thing, I will hit it...
One glitch that I am starting to perfect is through the wall in DKJP. I used it to get a lap of 12"48, and a total of 1'54"51. Well, I hope to take down the final 6 levels that Jake still owns tonight and tomorrow. Where is this guy? Come on, man, step up to the plate! ~Jon
Update #2 - After the last update, I went on and beat Jake's time in Toad's Turnpike. Now I'm up 11 to 5 in 3-lap times. I swear, this guy has pulled a complete dissapearence act. Who does he think he is? The Hollow Man? Well, I'm sending him an E-mail to get his @$$ in gear right now.
