Our time was up, and I'm pretty sure I got what I wanted from the session... a little confidence in myself and the reassurance to press on.

Later that evening, I went ahead and called Karen. What the hell, I can't find someone with whom to share my life if I don't take this step, right? We had a very nice conversation for over 45 minutes. She's a teacher of ED/BD students at an Appleton middle school, one year divorced after a four-year separation, with an eight-year old son. As it turned out, Wednesday night was the night before her birthday, so I sent a happy-birthday email to her yesterday. Karen had such a soft voice and the time just flew by as we talked. I'm looking very forward to talking with her again.

Last night for only the second time in five months, Debbie drove Catherine to my house. (The only reason she did so was to drop off Girl Scout cookies I'd ordered in January, but I was happy to have saved a bus trip to the mall.)

Cathy and I had a great day, today. She came to school with me and made pals with Maddy and Sarina. Cathy had the chance to play in the computer lab for a while and went to four classes during the day... Spanish, science, art, and drama. I thought it curious she didn't sit through any of my classes and she didn't see me teach at all, but she had fun.

She forgot to take her backpack with her this morning, though, so tonight she spent time doing homework. Cathy did two pages of spelling and worked on a book report while I wrote lessons for my algebra text. We took a break for some ice cream, and after our work for the night was done I read Dickens to her before bed.

Speaking of bed, the blanket on the floor is calling to me... I'm so tired! Cathy asked that I set the alarm tomorrow for 7am so she wouldn't miss her favorite cartoon, "Lilo and Stitch." I'll more than likely sleep in as she watches her show.
