A lot of people say that money is the root of all evil. Are you kidding me?!? The fifty dollar bill represents everything that's good about this country, this community, and yourselves.
Once upon a time, folks bartered for everything. They gave the fruits of their labor to someone else in exchange for the fruits of theirs. Later, as people became more specialized and less well-rounded, it became difficult to figure how many skins would be worth how many flasks of wine, or how much a day's labor building a house would be worth how much wheat.
So, man invented coin... cash... ka-ching... moola. Values were placed on items and skills, their worth determined at a fair price. Note the terms values and worth. Many people try to teach you that values have more to do with character and less with cash, that worth is how one should feel about one's self rather than anything dealing with economics. I'm here to tell you they're one and the same.
Whatever job you will choose to do once you're out of here, you will be producing something... some good, item, or service. Again, it's difficult to figure how much food is worth a certain number of tables on which you may wait, how many stereos you may sell, how many cases you may win, or what types of problems you will solve. That's where money comes in. The fifty dollar bill represents a day's labor at our current minimum wage. Money is simply this: it's the promise that you've done your best work that day.
