The house was a complete mess. Kari's "morning" sickness lasted all day long and doing anything in the form of cleaning just made her feel more ill. It got to the point where she was throwing marshmallows on the floor for her cats... they'd lick them until they became soft. I went to pick them up but she became perturbed because they were a treat and should stay on the floor. In the morning, not awake, and feeling a soft, squishy mess on one's foot ticked me off to the point of cleaning them anyway. Working full-time at school and part-time at APAC kept me out of the house nearly 70 hours a week. The best thing I could think to do to help my family situation was to quit working for Harrah's to spend more time to pitch in at home. For the following week the plan worked flawlessly. At home after school I was able to help clean house and cook and Kari became much more affectionate. We made love a couple times, but much more important to me was the cuddling before and afterward. Thursday we had a happy evening together, going through a baby book and coming up with possible names if Peanut was a girl. Finally it was time for Cathy's monthly weekend visit to the house. It was as it was in August... family time and fun together... all three of us. We let Cathy know we were going to have a baby together. On a walk near our home we went across a bridge over a creek. Cathy and Kari conspired together and ended up double-dog daring me to sit in the creek up to my neck. The water was freezing, but hearing them laugh together warmed my heart and soul. |
