Dolls I've Made
In 1998, two of the ladies in the quilt guild I belong to brought their creations from a doll making course they attended a few months earlier. I thought they were the funniest dolls I'd ever seen and I immediately knew that I wanted to take this course. So as soon as I heard that Elinor Peace Bailey was returning to Kalispell to teach another course on doll making, I convinced my mom that we should meet in Kalispell and take the course. She wasn't as enthused as I was, but she consented to take the course. It was a wonderful week and well worth the money.
The pictures of the dolls on this page are from patterns designed by Elinor Peace Bailey.

The dolls my mom and I made. We started them at the course in Kalispell, taught by Elinor Peace Bailey. |

I started this doll during the week long course, and Elinor designed the bare feet for me. The pattern is from 'Amethyst', except for the feet. Elinor Peace Bailey painted the face. |

This doll was also started during the week in Kalispell, but had to be completed at home. Recently I removed the skirt and wing and replaced them with a purple skirt and purple wings. I used the old skirt and wings on a new doll. Again, the face is painted by Elinor Peace Bailey. |

I made this doll for a friend of mine in Belgium. She came over to Canada for a quick six day visit just before Christmas in 1999. I wanted to send something back with her, but realized that I did not have time to make a quilt. Besides, her three children each have a quilt made by me. I decided the kids and my friend would enjoy the character-filled doll. I painted the face this time. |

I made this doll for Tracey, the friend I hiked to Berg Lake with in the summer of 1999. I planned on giving this to her for her Birthay in the year 2000, but did not find the time to make the christmas gift I had planned on making.
So instead, I sent the doll to her for Christmas and she will receive the christmas gift for her birthday... no I can't tell you what it is because I know she will be looking at this page. You'll just have to wait until I make the gift, then you can see a picture of it when I load it onto my web page.
I was hoping to keep this doll around my place a little longer, because I enjoy looking at it. Check out the bright bloomers, they were fun to make. I even painted the face. |
