... Only to return years later. Still assuming the name Raven Dawkins, and using some fake documents showing she passed junior high as well as her freshman, sophomore, and junior years of high school, she began attending Pleasantville High School. She avoided her "family" and tried to avoid Tommy (who had become captain of the school's football team and thus the most popular guy at school) at all costs, and finally talked to Merton, (who had become President of the Gothic Fantasy Guild) but never asked him out. Raven and Merton became very good friends...but as it turned out, Merton had another very good friend....by the name of Tommy Dawkins...(*dum dum dummmmmm....*) Luckily, at first, Tommy didn't even recognize her at all. ( First Day ) His comment at hearing her name was, "Hey, you have the same name as....someone else i know...". (talk about a relieved Raven!). Raven wanted to keep her newfound "ability" a secret, and she wasn't about to risk Tommy walking in on her with her wings out... But eventually she had to tell Merton. When she did, she told him not to tell anyone. He swore he would take the it to the grave with him...even though he didn't believe her. But, of course, the next school day, Merton quickly told Tommy (cuz "friends shouldn't keep secrets from each other" he says. THAT ONLY APPLIES WHEN IT'S YOUR SECRET!!!). Thinking about what Merton said to him, Tommy realized that Raven was the same girl his parents had "adopted". He immediately told Merton to "Stay completely away from Raven no matter what!" and that she was a "dangerous monster!" (*sigh*) So the next time Raven came to merton's "lair" (basement)...it looked a little like this...(see pic below) Anyway, Merton tried to "play it cool" and act like he was just messing around with her. Raven didn't fall for it, she asked what was wrong. Of course, merton quickly told her whatever she wanted to know, fearing for his life *rolls eyes*. So, deciding that it was the best solution for Merton, Raven again left Pleasantville without looking back.
She ended up at the Xavier Institute in New York,
but planned to someday come back to Pleasantville.
