The Decision Not to Immunize
Many parents question if their decision not to immunize their children is the right thing to do. The answer is that immunizations prevent children from developing many life-threatening diseases. Everyone should be aware that there are myths and misconceptions about immunizations, such as parents fearing their child will develop the disease or have a bad reaction to the immunization they are given. The author puts an end to these myths by stating that about one child per 1.2 million children vaccinated develop a disease caused by a vaccine. Some parents think they cannot afford to vaccinate their child. However, the author proves them wrong by telling us how to go about having children vaccinated free of charge, no matter your ethnic background, age, or citizenship. To make sure his point was made, the author states to all parents, "that immunizing their children properly is the safest and healthiest choice" ("The Decision Not to Immunize").
