Fecal Coliform

Fecal Coliform is a bacterium that can be found within the feces of humans or any other warm-blooded animal. Where fecal coliform originates is in the human digestive track and helps to digest food. The way that this kind of bacteria can enter a water source is through direct animal discharge and human sewage discharge. Fecal Coliform is not pathogenic but can indicate the presence of pathogenic organisms such as parasites, viruses, and bacteria which could cause all kinds of diseases and illnesses.

A-biotic - It cannot affect non-living things in anny way.

Biotic - if Fecal Coliform counts are over 200 coolonies per every 100 ml of water then there is a great chance that pathogenic organisms would probably be present. Also if pathogenic organisms in a diseased water or if it enters through a cut, mouth, ear, or nose then there is a great chance that this individual might develop some kind of a disease or sickness like gastroenteritis, hepatitis, dysentery, or ear infections.
