This is the USS ESSEX, which was a ship that I was on from June 2003 through June 2004 when I was deployed with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit. During this time period we performed exercises and humanitarian missions in Philipines, East Timor, Korea, Bali and Thailand. We also had an opportunity to visit Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong. It truly was a great experience! I wish I could share all the pictures and videos I have taken during my tour with the 31st MEU, but these will at least give you an idea of what I experienced. |
