| Car parts |
|---|
| This section shows car parts that I've made either as experiments and practice for future projects, or just for fun. |
| BMW Z3-M Bonnet | ||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
This started as a simple experiment to try using splines to create smooth curved surfaces. The BMW has a nicely curved bonnet so I thought it would be good to test this, and I kept going to complete the bonnet. I then finished off the details, and the lights help to show how the bonnet fits into the shape of the car.I needed some textures for the lights which you can see through the lens covers and didn't have any good close pictures, however I was in luck. Not many weeks before I had visited a BMW Mini showroom and took a good picture of the foglights on one of the Minis which I think look great.

| Spoiler | ||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
I was thinking about making a spoiler as an extra for my Volvo 360 as a break from other work but I couldn't find any good pictures or blueprints. I thought about making a spoiler for a Volvo S40 of which I had a couple of pictures. I decided that they wouldn't be good enough and then found some good blueprints of a similer looking spoiler. It's turned out fantastically and looks great.

| Sports Exhaust | ||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
I just made this quickly for no real reason when I hadn't got much to do. I think I could easily put this onto any car I make however it has too many faces to be practical really as it would slow games down too much. It does look quite good though, and it didn't take very long to make.

| Rear light module | ||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
I saw a blueprint for a rear light when I was browsing a blueprint website and I thought that I could try making it for a challenge and a bit of fun. It can even be used sideways!The Brushed aluminium and carbon fibre look stunning, and the lime green parts would be the same colour as the car it was on to make it blend into the vehicle. The model is OK but it isn't my best ever, as it does have a couple of small flaws but overall it's quite nice. I think it would fit well on a moden 'classic style' sports car like a Caterham 7 or a Morgan.

| 1960's style Wheel | ||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
This wheel started with a two litre bottle of Coca-Cola. I know it sounds strange, but I looked at the bottom of the bottle for some reason and it reminded me of a 1960's style wheel that would be on a muscle car. I then decided to try and make the wheel just from the bottom of the bottle and my imagination.The result is this great looking wheel, and if you look in the middle you can see my MJ-R logo. The tyre isn't rounded quite enough around the edges but other than that it's a super looking wheel. I think I've succeeded in making it look like a really typical 1960's muscle car wheel as I intended. Whenever you look at anything in the future remember to think 'outside the box', and see what you haven't seen before. It does have too many polygons to be able to be used very well in most games at the moment but will be great to use in screenshots of cars partly made, without wheels yet.

| Audi TT Wheel | ||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
I made this for a Power Point Wheel making Presentation which I was going to do but decided not to in the end as there are already enough tutorials around and I became very busy with other work.This was one of my earlier projects so the quality is lower than more recent work, but it's still nice.
