| MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS 2002 Britney Spears presents a personal birthday present in form of the Performer of the Millennium award to Michael Jackson at the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards at Radio City Hall in New York on August 29, 2002 Michael Jackson's speech: "God bless you. I love you too. Thank you very much Britney Spears - you look wonderful. When I was a little boy in Indiana, if someone had told me that one day I would be getting, as a musician, the Artist of the Millennium Awards, I wouldn't have believe it. It's really amazing. I can't believe it. Thank you really so very much, but there's a couple of people I have to thank who this possible. I really want to thank God who makes all things possible, my mother, Joseph Jackson and Katherine Jackson, Trudy Green, Howard Kaufman, the genius of John McClain, John Branca, Berry Gordy, Diana Ross, Gladys Knight. Quincy Jones, I love you. David Blaine, your magic is real and I believe in you. And I like to thank ... I think James Brown is a genius. And all the fans around the world, I love you, God bless you. | World Awards 2002 At the World Awards 2002, whih where presented at the Vienna Hofburg Palace on 2nd November 2002, Michael was honoured with the World Arts Award. The award, which is given to men who have had a positive impact on the world, is, among others, suported by the United Nations in Vienna, the Gorbachev Foundation and UNICEF. Michael was not presented at the Award show, but the awards was given to him earlier, and he recorded a video mesage. |
