How Does Your Garden Grow?
I know, it's corny.  However, I really love plants, gardening, nature, and I just felt my web site was not complete without a page dedicated to where I spend oodles of time in the spring, summer and fall months: my garden!
left: MY FAVORITE PICTURE!  Look at the morning dew drop in the middle of this flower!  Isn't it amazing that I caught this on film?
This picture is from early spring.  Fuscias are one of my favorite plants, and you can see a great pink and purple fuscia hanging in this picture!  The other hanging basket is my strawflower.   (May 2004)
This is one of my favorite parts of my garden.  I call it my "hosta room."  You can see the hostas here are just starting to come out.  There's also a great fern in the bottom right corner of this picture, and our 3 year old Japanese maple in the back left corner. (May 2004)
Did you expect me NOT to have my very own strawberry garden?!  There are tons of flowers, but no berries yet in this picture.  (May 2004)
This picure is later in the season (to the right).  It's of me standing next to a giant delphinium!  Believe it or not, this is the first summer season we've had this delphinium in the ground!  It was taller than me! (June 2004) Please note my bad hair day. :)
To the left, you see what the delphinium looks like when it actually blooms!
Along our fence, we have a perennial garden.  They are just starting to pop out in this picture.  We added a TON more flowers this year to it!  (May 2004)
I LOVE TULIPS!
I have many varities, including many exotic types!
They are one of the first signs of spring!
Besides gardening, I have also taken up the hobby of photography.  These two hobbies go hand in hand-- I take pictures of my flowers, then I even take it a step further and scrapbook the flower pictures into greeting cards that I give as gifts!  All the pictures below are flowers from my garden from the late spring to summer of 2004.  I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I do!

right and below: a single pansie (sometimes called a Johnny jump-up) and a cluster of them.  These flowers don't grow very tall, but they are very photogenic!

right: zinnias are SO easy to grow and make wonderful cut-flower bouquets!  You should try some in your garden next season!
left and right: from one single plant, I got two different colored flowers!  To the right, you can see a maroon and yellow columbine, and to the left, there's a purely yellow one.  I had to lay on the ground and face up to get the picture of the yellow one!
left: lilies are another favorite flower of mine
below: one single parrot tulip
below: rhododendron
right: isn't this a great shot?  It's a peonie flower in full bloom!
right: two strawflowers (these feel crispy even when they're blooming and perfectly healthy!  They make unbelievable dried flowers)
