Mitoki
A young girl walked through the moonlit darkness of an open field near her home. She had found herself unable to sleep that night, and so decided to take a walk. The sky was amazing. Not a cloud could be seen anywhere, and the moon and stars shone brighter than the girl could ever remember. It surely was a beautiful night.
She was startled by a deer that jumped out of the trees and bounded ahead of her, its white tail up in alarm. What could have spooked it? she thought. Maybe I did, but I know I wasn't being that noisy. After pondering the matter for a few moments, she decided it was nothing and continued on her way.
This time she made it to the edge of her backyard where the field ended when she heard her name being whispered, as if the slight breeze was calling to her.
Ayanna...
She turned around with a jerk. "Who's there?" But no answer came.
Her pace quickened and she didn't stop until the door was sercured behind her. What was going on tonight?
