Faye Tozer Born 14/11/75 in Northampton, England First ever showbiz appearence was at the age of 6 where she presented her first song and dance to a rabbit on stage and became a member of the pantomime cast.  She originally wanted to be a ballerina but was told she was the wrong shape ?? but has realised her dancing dream through Steps.  Has also helped present "SM-TV live"  replacing Cat while she was away , helped H present "MTV select" and helped Lee with the  "Pepsi chart".

Claire Richards Born 17/08/77  in Hillingdon, Middlesex England Claire's career took off after getting the lead part in her school play of the sound of music. This led to several prizes in Karaoke Contests including an inter-brewery competition. She also had an audition on the Michael Barrymore show. She has also presented "Electric Circus" and "CD-UK" 'as well as "Steps to the stars" co-hosted  with "H", which was  an entertainment show where people showed off their talents hoping to be picked for the final on "Live and Kicking"

Lisa Scott Lee Born 05/11/75 in St.Asaph, Wales Wanted to be famous from an early age she has realised this ambition with Steps. Has recently appeared on "Never mind the buzzcocks" and has co-presented the "Pepsi Charts", with Lee. She is also an experienced presenter hosting channel 4's programme "Late Lunch" . Lisa was also  seen on "steps to the stars" performing with the group at the end of every episode.

Lee Latchford Evans Born 28/01/75 in Chester, England Lee wanted to be a footballer when younger, a dream which nearly came true. First star role was in his infant school play where he played King Herod. He never liked the part or the idea of him being the one that killed Jesus (aww bless). He appeard alongside his group in "Steps to the stars", helped host "CD-UK live" for an easter special and presented the "Pepsi chart" at least twice.

Ian Watkins "H" Born 08/05/76  in Llwyniphia, Rhondda Wales Got his taste for stardom appearing on stage at just 9, and got his nickname "H" for being Hyperactive. Before Steps he was considering becoming a Vet, fortunately his lure for the stage was too strong. He and Lisa have a special bond as they are both welsh and met early on in their auditions for Steps. He also co-hosted "Steps to the stars" with Claire.

British dance-pop quintet Steps were assembled in 1997 from thousands of applicants who applied to an advertisement in "The Stage". After extensive auditions Lisa, H, Claire, Lee and Faye were chosen. "5678" was their first single which unfortunately just stayed out of the UK top 10 but it topped the charts in Belgium. Then came the cover version of a "Bananarama" song "Last thing on my mind", Which peaked at number 6 in the UK charts. "One for sorrow" was their biggest release to date followed shortly afterwards by their first album, "Step One". Their first UK no1 came in early 1999 with the double sided "Heartbeat/Tragedy" ...... Long live STEPS
