I Shall Over Come

I reach out to grasp your hand,
But we are oceans apart.
I look up to see your face,
But the sun blinds my eyes.
I call out for you to come to me,
But I'm stuck in a valley.
I listen for your beautiful voice,
But the shrieks of reality drain out the sound.
We are apart.
So I sit,
And await your call.
Though tears fill the oceans,
Fear charges the sun,
Confusion builds mountains,
And this reality is unavoidable,
I know you will call.
Because I love you,
And you love me.
And some how my life will go on.
With only whispers in the darkness.
Some how I'll manage.
But until then,
I sit alone.
Scared.
Tired.
You're my first and best friend.
And though impossible it may seem,
I shall over come.
