Da Vinci:
What do you think of the intention of this exhibit? What is your personal reaction to it?What is your favorite part and why? What about his exhibit shows that Da Vinci is such a great genius? (1/2 page)

The intention of this exhibition was how Da Vinci's inventions affected out life and why he was a famous man. Everybody else says that he was a weird man and had different ideas, but I thought he's an interesting man. For example, everybody thought shells on the mountains were from Noah's Ark, but Da Vinci thought it was because of tsunamis, flood and tides. He treasured his own opinions and didn't care even other people disagreed. My favorite part was Da Vinci's writing in the mirror. His writings were all right to left and even though he could write with his right hand, he wrote with his left hand using the mirror. I thought he's a clever man writing from other way because nobody else can read his secret inventions and his other writings. This exhibit shows that Da Vinci used many natural sources to invent new things, and tried to find a different thoughts from other people. Because of that, he became famous for weird man but also a genius.

Tokyo City Views:
How is the skyline of Tokyo changing? What do you think it will it look like in 10 years? Is the new development making Tokyo a better or worse place to live? Why? (1/2 page)

From the Roppongi Hills, I realized that there are more and more buildings constructed. I saw some areas under construction, and I thought that new buildings are catching our eyes because they have interesting looks, or have cool playing ground on the roof. On the other hand, most of the old houses and structures are really hard to see because we don't look at them. In 10 years, I think Tokyo would be both good and bad for our life. It is good because our life would be more fun and useful with many new buildings, but it is also making out life bad because they are causing environmental issues such as urban heat, global warming and air pollution.

City Models:
Describe the most distinctive features of each of the three cities. Mention such things as parks, waterway access, skyscrapers, apparent population density and so on.Which city would be best to live in and why? (one page - one paragraph about each city and a conclusion)

New York has many tall and important buildings and places such as Empire State building, Statue of Liberty, and Ground Zero. Those tall buildings are built in particular places especially on the east side, and other small buildings and houses are in the middle. There is also big Central Park which caught my eyes in the exhibition. Water is all around the city and there are many bays where ships stop. The population of New York is about 8,340,000 and it is less than Tokyo and Shanghai.
Shanghai is a big city with population of about 20 millions which is way more than two other cities. Shanghai is formed with two main areas, Puxi and Pudong which are separated by the Yellow River. Pudong is the east part of Shanghai and has lots of tall buildings built, or will be build by the year 2010. There are also many weird and interesting shaped buildings such as the Pearl Tower near the river. On the west side of Shanghai, it is mainly covered with little houses, but I've seen some tall buildings which weren't shown on the model in the museum. There are some beautiful parks in the Puxi area such as Ren Min Guang Chang (Republic Square)
Tokyo is a small city, but about 8 million people lives there. Tokyo has many tall buildings especially near the Tokyo Bay, around Tokyo tower, and Shinjuku. The South of Tokyo is mostly water Odaiba is surrounded by the water. There are some rivers such as Sumida River and Tama River which makes our water transportation lot easier. North part is mostly small buildings and as you get north, it is quieter and less people.
I think Shanghai is the best place to live because the part where it is separated into two cities is really useful and when one part was invaded or something, you can still go to the other side and live. From the exhibition, it showed that there are more and more buildings build by 2010 which would make us live more easily.

Art Museum:
Which photograph impressed you the most and why? (one paragraph) What was your overall impression of the exhibit? What sort of skill do you think this artist has to become a famous artist? (one paragraph)

One of the photographs which impressed me was called Surface with a Conic Singularity which was taken by a man named Hiroshi Sugimoto. I found that photo when I first went into the museum and saw white walls facing all other way. The picture has to do with mathematic thing which didn't make any sense to me, but I thought it looked like a lady with long neck! Also looked like there was a mirror in the middle which made me think it was a reflection.
I think he is a great photographer because most of his pictures were black and white which is really hard to see but makes it mysterious. His pictures were very simple, but had a one main topic which other people can feel what Hiroshi wanted to tell. I also realized that some of the pictures were blurry but I think that took people's attention too.
