(Princess Diaries)
I give this movie 75% out of a hundred because I really enjoyed most of the part. I think it was interesting for me because it was based on the popular novel by Meg Cabot and it is my first favorite English book. I already knew the ending, but I thought it's well presented in the movie and I didn't get bored for the whole show. But I think most of the readers would say the book is better because it's in a diary form and the author expresses Mia's feeling very attractively and enthrallingly. In this movie Mia is played by Anne Hathaway, and her grandmother is played by Julie Andrews. I thought how Anne Hathaway played both a normal 9th grade girl and a beautiful princess of a country was fantastic, because not many actors can change their act that much. One thing is that Anne doesn't look like a teenager, she is already 22 years old and I think it's too old to act like a middle school student. Julie Andrews acts like a polite queen most of the time in this movie, but I liked how she sometimes changes her reactions so much to what Mia says. But I didn't enjoy some parts because they were too different from the real novel. For example, in the book it talks more about Mia's mother and her algebra teacher, but in the movie Mia wasn't talking about it at all. I thought that part was quite hilarious and so as some other parts from the book. This movie is very interesting for teenage girls like me, but I think most of the adults wouldn't enjoy it. So it would be better if they made a few more changes in the story so adults could enjoy it as well. But this movie taught me that not all the princesses are intelligent, which I think is ok. Mia is lazy and really bad at algebra, but she becomes a really good princess because she is nice to other people. If some parts could be fixed, then I'd give this movie about 95%.
