Ending To Final Fantasy 9
After defeating the final boss (whom I have no idea what to call...), your party is warped back outside in front of the entrance to the Lifa tree. Beatris and the Regent spot you and land the Hilda Garde to pick you up. While the gang is getting on the airship, Zidane hears Kuja say "good bye Zidane". He then stops and tells everyone to leave without him, that Kuja was still alive and that he was going to go get him. Everyone refused this action, but were soon persuaded to leave without him. Garnet/Dagger makes him promise to return alive. Seeing that the ship had left safely, Zidane turned back to the biserking roots known as the Lifa tree. (Note* This sequence where he "rides" the roots and vines of the Lifa tree is very funny because of him cockiness and compared to the Petrified forest, Blank being stone is nothing. ^^). He lands into the tree and finds Kuja (think The Matrix!^^). Kuja tells him to leave him and that he doesn't deserve to live, but Zidane trys to reason with him. He dies after their talk (he didn't live his fear after all: Dying alone) and Zidane gets caught in the rampage of the tree............
Some time has pasted since the incident, and it is time for the Tantilus theatre play again. The scene is a lot like the beginning of the game, except everyone from your party is there (except Zidane, and not vivi, but vivi's 7 sons....haha), Beatris and Steiner are kinda together (AWWW!), and Garnet is now queen (Duh). As the play is progressing, Garnet is speaking to herself, saying things like-' I must get over him' and ' he wouldn't want me to mourn, but enjoying myself',- obviously speaking of Zidane. The story then focuses on the play-" I Want To Be Your Canary". The lead role (dressed in a black cape, whom you assume *hint* to be Marcus) is making a wish for his love to come with him. She doesn't come and he wishes upon the moon. With that he rips off his cloak, and who else is it but Zidane, finishing his wish by saying-"Please bring my Dagger back to me". ( Dagger is Garnet's nickname when she leaves the castle, gets it because that is the weapon Zidane uses).
Well, Garnet is shocked beyond belief and goes running out of the castle (Steiner and Beatris let her through, I think they were in on all of this, haha) and into the crowd. Somehow while fishing through the crowd, the chain of her necklace breaks and falls to the ground (you know, the thing that helped summon Alexander.....I think). She turns around to retrieve it, but changes her mind and keeps running to the stage of the theatre ship.
When she gets there she leaps into Zidanes waiting arms, crying. He kinda smiles at her like-"well, I am here". and she just crys more at the sight of him (hey, I would too if I was her and thought he was dead!). She pounds her fist into his chest, as if saying- "how could you leave me like that?!" (very amusing^_^). Zidane just tightens his hug on her and smiles at the fact that he is finally holding her. The whole audience is cheering, including the rest of the gang! You see Steiner and Beatris still at the balcony of the castle, and together they raise a sword and the entire (rebuilt) kingdom of Aleandria shines in the brilliance of itself.
After the screen fades, you see words forming....: " How did you survive?" "I had to survive,......so I just sang your song, our song..." And what ending would be complete without music? Garnet's song starts playing, words and all, as the credits roll by. I love a happy ending =*)!
