Hi! I am a 48 year old widow, and Mother of three. I have two sons, Cody, who is 13, and Bill, who is 18, at home, as well as my 30 year old daughter and her 6 year old. I live in a little bitty town, 16 miles from the nearest stop light, in rural SE Colorado. My husband died three and a half years ago. It has taken me most of that time to regroup and reinvent ME. I am now finding that I lack the joy of sharing a dinner, a movie, a bike trip and the like with a man who can carry on a conversation and who has some old fashioned values. I am 5'4" tall, weigh about 30 pounds too much, I have long blonde hair, blue eyes that I am told flash when I am angry or when I am excited, I have a college degree, and I have driven a semi for a living, too. And a lot of stuff in between. I am far from being a rich widow...Lon died young, and left a lot of bills, an old house in the country, three kids, four dogs, a cat, and a lot of love behind. I work every day, and I am struggling, but I am proud to say that I am making it alone. I miss sharing lifes good things with a man who appreciates the things that I do, and I find that a lot of our couples friends suddenly don't have much in common with me any more. They were OUR friends and I feel like a fifth wheel when they include me nowadays. I have struggled with incredible odds, and incredible grief in the past two years, and I have survived, and even come out stronger, I think. My parents both died within a few months of my husband, one just before, one two months later. I had a rough time for a long time, but now I want to move forward. Whoever gets involved in my life would also be involved in my kids lives.. as we are a family, tighter than ever.
I care a lot about political things, and I am involved in the fight to save our guns from the gun grabbers, as well as in the fight to remove the government from our lives. I am passionate about these things. They are not just passing opinions, they are strong, deeply held convictions.
My husband used to tell people that I had enough brass to start my own band. I don't know about that, but I can hold my own in most circles, both in the pits at the race track, and at a dinner party that costs $250 a plate. I feel at home at a private political fund raiser, as well as standing around a campfire with a group of biker friends. Most of my friends are in their late 30s and early 40s. That is because it seems to me that people my age are willing to get old. They don't have any energy and aren't interested in tasting all of lifes pleasures. I just guess I am not ready to settle for a chair and a good movie every night. I don't care for bars and parties all the time, although once ina while, a game of pool or darts and a couple of beers with friends is great fun. I love to do lots of things, and sitting around watching time flick by me is definitely not in the plans for the near future. I hope to meet someone to share some fun and some dreams with.

MY Photo Page

I love country music, two steppin', old Rock N Roll, I play golf, I like to ride the back seat of big motorcycles,(Lon, aka 12 Gauge, rode a 68 Shovel head) I like to camp out, love to winter camp, although I got over any interest in hunting a long time ago, I still love to hunt with my Nikon, and enjoy the hunting camps. I like to target shoot, and am learning to shoot trap and skeet. I like reading biographies, political books, and sci fi/fantasy books. My favorite book of all time is by John Ross.. called "Unintended Consequences". Probably my favorite music of all time is ZZ Top- LaGrange. My favorite movie of recent times is The Green Mile. I love to watch movies, all snuggled up in front of the fireplace, with a cold Pepsi and a bag of pop corn. I enjoy cooking, and I am trying to remodel my kitchen so that I can do some BBQs and spend some evenings with friends here at home next year. I enjoy entertaining in small groups. When my family is all home for a dinner, there are 12 of us. Christmas is a huge traditional thing, and I enjoy the fixins and the day very much. I have several kids that are really not mine, but who needed a Mom for one reason or another over the years. Some of them are in their 30s now. And I love it when they all come home.
Travelling is one of my greatest joys. I love seeing new places, exploring places I haven't been before. I like finding ghost towns and old mining towns around the Rockies too. I love Colorado!

I mentioned my 13 year old, Cody. He is 6' and 200# and all boy. His older brother is Bill, who is 18, and mostly on his own. April is 30, has a slight learning disability, and lives here with her 6 year old daughter Ashley.
Sara is one of my adopted kids.. she is 36 now, but when she was a teen, she needed a friend, and still calls me Mom. Her husband, Mike is a welder, and scooter tramp who repairs huge generating systems. They have/want no kids. But are having a ball being there for my kids. Saras EX husband is still a friend of all of us.. His name is Kenny.. he is 39, 6'8" tall, and about as thin as they come. He and his daughter, another Ashley, 14, are with us a lot too. Kenny builds houses.
Kenny, Mike and Sara own a 10 acre piece of land up in the mountains, at about 8800 feet. Sara and Mike live there, and recently started to build a house.
Several of my oldest friends are a band called Kountry Kuzzins. They are awesome.
Lon and I used to ride Harleys with a club called the Viet Nam Vets. Several of those guys are also peace officers that Lon worked with. They are still friends and we stay in touch.
