Please read this completely.
When you arrive at the distribution, you'll be given a random ticket with one of several time slots. The time slot may be the first, or it may be the last. The time slot on your ticket indicates when you will be served.
YOU MUST HAVE YOUR ENTRANCE TICKET TO BE SERVED
Distribution of tickets starts at 3:30 PM.
Why do we need this lottery system? Before implementing this new system there were some crowd control issues with long lines and long wait times. This new system breaks the crowd into reasonable sized groups with stated times for service of each group. Your wait time is reduced and all ticket holders can be served equally. Once you have your entrance ticket, you can go home, run errands - whatever. No need to stand in line. Just be back 30 minutes before the time on your ticket.
We are limiting the distribution to 500 tickets so that all who are served receive a generous amount of food.
One ticket per household/address
You must be present to get your ticket - you cannot pick up tickets for other people
You must be 18 or older to get a ticket
These restrictions allow us to serve as many of your neighbors as possible.
What we request of you:
-This distribution is sponsored by a small group of families. We love people and we love to help those in need. Please understand that we are all volunteers doing our very best to serve you.
- No loitering in the parking lot please. We need to keep crowds to a minimum. Once you have your entrance ticket, we encourage you to either leave the site or wait in your car until your allocated time. Please do not line up until 30 minutes before the time slot on your card.
- The site at Canterbury does not have restrooms that we can use. Please come prepared for your reduced wait with proper clothing, food, water, etc.
- NO ALCOHOL OR ILLEGAL DRUGS allowed on the premises.
- Please be prepared to quickly transport the products you receive to your car. Wagons, wheeled carts and sturdy boxes work well. We encourage you to be self sufficient in this area. Be Creative!
- Please be on time for your assigned time slot
- You must have both a completed registration form and entrance ticket to enter the distribution area. NO EXCEPTIONS.
We strive to provide an enjoyable atmosphere for volunteers and recipients alike. Anyone who engages in unacceptable conduct or activities will be asked to leave the site immediately!
