“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”
Genesis 1:1
The sun broke through the clouds over the Lake of the Eternal One. The Illuminated One, as his followers called him, rose from his bed. His eyes focused off into the distance. He saw his people flying about the capital city, going about their daily tasks. He looked over the water and saw the birds bathing in its gentle ripples. He stepped off his bed and let his wings flex. He stretched his muscular arms and walked over to his bath. He looked in the mirror. He admired his own beauty and preened his jet-black hair. He pulled it back into a ponytail; its length was to his lower back. He took his customary white robes and his silver sword, strapped to his waste. He put his sandals on and walked out of his washroom and into the hallway. He strolled down the halls and into his courtyard. He took a deep breath and flapped his wings. He lifted off the ground. He flew over the lake and to the city. He landed on the largest rise in the land. The Tower of the Illuminated One. He took his place at the top and stood, his arms outstretched, with wings spread. A horn blew in the temple and all of the people turned as one and knelt to him. They all shouted in unison.
“All hail Lucifer, Son of God, behold his awesome power and infinite grace.”
The crowd stayed on their knees until Lucifer lowered his arms. He stepped off his pedestal and walked to the stairs that led down to the lower levels. He put his hand to the door and it opened. He stepped through and into a dim room, lit only with a few candles. Inside it was crowded with royal officials all huddled around a large screen. Lucifer walked to the screen and the crowd parted. He looked at it intensely at it for moments and then turned to his officials.
“I will handle this matter personally, please send this message directly to my personal chambers here in the tower. I will inform you of our next move when I have decided upon it.” He spoke with an authority that could not be compromised, and his men knew it, when he spoke that was it, no one argued. He walked to another door, opposite the one he entered through. He put his hand up to it and the door glowed white and then red. It opened with a hiss. He walked through the doorway and to a small globe on the opposite side of the room. He held his hand above it and it began to move. It turned on its axis and stopped suddenly. With a flash of light, he disappeared.
He materialized in another room, this one was very dark and the only things that could be seen were a control panel and a monitor similar to the one in the command room. He walked to it and it began to beep.
“Hello, Michael, how are you on this fine day? Is there anything I can do for you?”
“You know what I am here for Lucifer. God has sent me, surrender now or you will certainly be punished beyond anything you know.” Michael spoke with a confidence that seemed to quiver in the presence of Lucifer.
“Who do you think you are boy? If God wanted to speak to me, don’t you think he would talk with me personally and not send some errand boy to whine. Why don’t you go back to your games?” Lucifer smirked and closed the connection.
He turned and a figure appeared covered in flames that would not extinguish. Lucifer turned white.
“Lucifer, I command you to release your hold on these, my pillars of fire. You are my most loved creation, you know that, do not make me have to destroy you.”
“Yes, sire, just let me inform my men. I will relinquish these bases immediately.
